President Jonathan, please let the revolution be televised. Nigerians voted for you overwhelmingly. Therefore, you have the peoples' mandate, meaning that you are duly elected. Don’t wait for a second chance or a second term, go for it, make good use of the power vested in you by the people and transform our beloved country for good.
Remember it takes an El’Rufia to clean up Abuja and he is still standing, in spite of congressional persecution. You can do the same to the whole nation and you will stand taller than usual. As Papa Awo once said, it is not becoming the President of a country that matters, but the use made of it. Finally, don’t be tempted; do not accumulate wealth that you or your future generations cannot spend. Send the same message to all the governors, ministers, member of the national assembly, state legislators, commissioners, and local government Chairs. That was where President Obasanjo was found wanting.
Granted you cannot police the nation as a whole, but endeavor to lead by example. Adding to that, give EFCC, the Police, and the Attorney General a new mandate to fight corruption. If possible, declare your assets and what you reasonably believe you do not need and your family and extended family do not need, forfeit them to the nation. In that case, you will be able to fight corruption head-on. You have four years before 2015; please concentrate on the jobs at hand and 2015 will take care of itself.
