Derivation and deprivation: Why the North is poor

This is the article written by Mr. Ross Alabo-George that Mr. Toyin Akinosho referred to in his recent article, tiled "The North Does Not Control Nigeria's Oil Blocks", reproduced earlier on the Blog, courtesy of the Sahara Reporters. Mr. Akinosho made the reference in his reaction to the widely circulated news story yesterday by Senator Etang of Akwa Ibom State, to the effect that Northerners control about 83% of the Nigerian Oil Blocs.
