The Shame of a Nation and the Ridiculousness of All the President's Men on Duty.

I have seen this video several times, and for obvious reasons, I have resisted the urge to flow with the accompanying ya bish. Love him or hate him, Mr. Buhari is still my President, our President. Therefore, he deserves our utmost protection at home and abroad.
Besides, there's nothing comical or of any emotional and psychological value watching and laughing to scorn my President wallowing helplessly in a state of peril before an international audience, and all the President's Men around him failed to act consistently with protocol and the demands of their office. And that is a shame of a nation. Thanks to a staff of Angela Merkel, the German Chancellor, who knows what taking a bullet for the President entails, and acted promptly.
So, I share the video, not for the entertainment values of it, but to draw Nigerians attention to the stark reality of a world of the cocoon and of unprecedented solitary that our President lives in. The way kids interact with and relate to their parents whenever they are outside of the house is a reflection of the affinity or measure of the love that exists at home. Remember the invasion of the rodents.
Most often, we have heard President Buhari's critics, including this author, alluding to the fact that the President is not in charge. Watching this video, it is imperative to ask, how can you be in charge, when you are uninformed and those paid to keep you informed like at the occasions seen on the video are themselves uninformed or lacked the audacity to act accordingly when doing so is most urgent. And that's the Nigerian tragedy under the Buhari's dispensation.
Nevertheless, informed or uninformed, it is a big shame on all the President's Men at that Press Conference who watched our President fiddling helplessly with the earpiece, but failed to take action and bail him out of a ridiculous situation on time. It was a national embarrassment. The Shame is on them, not the President.
