Nigeria's future in home players, says coach - Africa - Sports - Ahram Online

Nigeria's future in home players, says coach - Africa - Sports - Ahram Online

Mr. Keshi should not foreclose on using international players. What he should realize is that Egypt has a very robust national league - the best in Africa, if I am not mistaken. Their local players do not flock overseas like the Nigerian guys. Not that I am against anyone going abroad for a better professional life, just that we need players like Odemhingie to help strengthen the national team. The state of our national team is a reflection of our local league, which has been displaced and rendered less viable because of our proclivity and demonstrated enthusiasm for  European soccer. Go to pepper soup joints at Abuja or Kaduna at night, you will know what I am talking about.

I wish Mr. Keshi the best.
